So, how does all this work anyway?
After you submit your inquiry form I take a look over the options you've suggested and look through the menu of available structural options I have available. I currently use headbases from MaimFace so you can take a look at their website to get an idea of what structural elements I'll be suggesting. If I don't have anything that I think suits your personal style, or if the suggestion I make doesn't fit for you, I have a list of alternate makers I can go through or we can discuss custom sculpting options (3d model or foam base) if that's what is going to meet your needs best.
Once we tack down the shape we will be working with I take some time to sketch up a rough draft of my concept for your character, usually drawn on top of an image of the base materials, so that we can both have a clear idea of what the finished result is likely to look like. There may be some differences needed in the end as discovered during production and of course reality always looks a little different but in my experience the end result is generally pretty close!
Next I will access my vendor list and their available fabrics (I work mostly with BigZ and HowlFabrics but I will go anywhere I can to find the fabric that will work best for you) and send you photos of what options I think will work best so that you can approve the options before any purchase is made.
After the base materials and the fur/lining options have been solidified active production sets in. Over the next several weeks you can expect to receive communications from me for any clarification or fabrication decisions that I'm developing for you. If there are accessibility concerns being worked into your design I will reach out to you while I am working on those to make sure my work is suiting your needs. I may ask for further measurements or aesthetic input during this time and If you have any questions about the process or want an additional updates I am not at all opposed to being available. I do ask that you respect that communication is never instantaneous and will happen when I am able, I do invite open communication while we are in active development though so feel free to reach out.
Before I finalize anything I will reach out one last time to give you the opportunity to see what the completed piece looks like, ask for any additional pictures or video to see any details you may be concerned with and once you feel that we have completed your vision I will mark your piece as complete and wait for final payment. Once final payment is recieved I will ship your package out (UPS with tracking by default, or your preferred carrier service)
